restaurants particularly offer sea food and many other options and are
displayed from Kuta beach to 66 beach Legian. Along Legian and Padma street,
you can enjoy the best selection of restaurants and bars even with live music.
Kartika Plaza street offers wise collection of sea food and fancy restaurants
but cozy and affordable can be found easily as well. 24 hrs fast food
restaurants or small counters for easy bite available in Kuta square, Kuta beach and Legian street. Mostly 2-5 stars
hotels provide restaurants and bars which could be good option as well. Down to
Majapahit street, small local restaurants are available and the price is
obviously affordable. Mostly the restaurants offer bar services as well. Chill
out in beachfront bars to enjoy the sunset is always one of the best ways to
experience the feeling of holiday in Bali.
MadeÃ¢€™s Warung I on Jl Pantai Kuta, in the heart of Kuta 755297, and MadeÃ¢€™s Warung II, Banjar Seminyak, 732130 (not be confused with other restaurants of the same name), top the list of old favorite, close to many Bali villa, and house for rents it is a popular hangout and great for people watching. They also have great food. Specialties include Thai and Vietnamese salads, prawns in chilli sauce, squid fillet, black rice ice cream, fresh and frozen yogurt, fresh fruit juice and frothy cappuccino.
Poppies Restaurant on Gang Poppies I (751059) is the other old favorite in downtown Kuta close to the Bali Lodging's, with a rather more up-market atmosphere and menu, though still a bargain for what you get. Lamp-lit tables in a cozy garden. specialties include steak, lobster and shish kebab, and one of the most extensive drink and wine lists on Bali. Advance bookings are an absolute must as the place is always full. The same owner has another restaurant offering similar dishes, Kopi Pot on Jl Legian (752514). The second story has a coconut grove view which is now a rarity in Kuta. Try the satay or the baby Shark for a taste adventure, which is not on the menu. Superb desserts. Goa 2001, on Jl Raya Seminyak, 731178, is the place to be seen prior to heding for the nightclubs. Spacious, trendy bar restaurant serving a variety of meat and vegetarian curries: they also have a sushi bar.
Breakfast Zas is famous for its breads and Mama's Deli for homemade sausages, both on the Legian road near the junction with Jl Plaza. MadeÃ¢€™s Warung (see above) has a breakfast special that includes fresh fruit juice, eggs, bacon, toast, fresh fruit yogurt and a cappuccino.
Coffee After diner or afternoon coffee is a treat at Benny's, on Jl Pura Bagus Taruna also close to the Bali villa and house rentals. They have a variety of brews: Columbian, Brazilian and Balinese. Try their coffee with arak palm liquor.
Desserts Once again, Made's Warung takes the cake with the best desserts in Kuta. Exquisite strawberry pie, cheesecake and chocolate cakes, as well as rum raisin and carrot. TJÃ¢€™s comes in a close second with their "chocolate diablo cake." Kopi Pot on Jl Pantai Legian has great lemon meringue pies and black forest cake.
Padang Everybody's favorite Indonesian regional cuisine comes from West Sumatra. There should be one close to where you are stay-ing in Bali. Spicy nasi padang is available at Surya Jaya right next to the police station. Ten different dishes will be served the minute you arrive, all of them fiery hot. They charge only for what you eat.
Chinese Golden Lotus at Dynasty Hotel, Jl. Kartika Plaza, has the best Cantonese food in Kuta. Bali Indah, on Jl Buni Sari and Lenny's on Jl Pantai Kuta, Puri Bali Indah and Gosha at Jl Melasti, are all first-rate for Chinese cuisine and seafood. But everybodyÃ¢€™s favorite is Restaurant Mini on Jl Legian, about 200 m north of bemo corner. Choose your own fresh lobsters, fish and prawns, to be grilled, steam or stirfried with vegetables. If youÃ¢€™re allergic to MSG tell them Ã¢€œno Aji-no-moto."

Italian Italian dishes are now found in almost every restaurant. The pool restaurant at Bali Padma Hotel and Fat Yogi's on Popies Gang in Kuta have the best pizzas in town. 66 on the beach at Jl Legian Cottage Lane also serves Italian dishes. The restaurant turns into a disco after 11 pin. Luna Lana, opposite Goa 2001, also has excellent pasta dishes. Lotus Tavern on Jl Wana Segara near the Holiday Inn, has homemade pasta, wood-fired oven pizzas as well as fresh seafood cooked over a charcoal grill.
Mexican Stylish TJ's Restaurant served the best enchiladas this side of the Pacific. The nachos and salsa are great with a cold beer, or try a frozen strawberry margarita on a lazy afternoon.
Indian The Bali Oberoi serves the best lndian food, especially the chicken tika and the vegetarian food, for an up-market price. G& D (formerly George & Dragon), off Jl Legian behind the Panin Bank, is one of the few which have a tandoor oven. Delicious tan door chicken and oven-fresh nana. Reasonable prices.
Swiss Swiss Restaurant at Jl Puri Bagus Teruna is meeting place for most European hoteliers. The honorary Swiss consulate is next door.
Japanese Bali's only serious Japanese restaurant is the up-market Yashi, in Pertamina Cottages South of Kuta by the airport, where two Japanese chefs prepare a full range of dishes from sushi to tempura. At LG Club, JI Pantai Legian, they have the do-it yoursell Japanese and Korean buffet. From shabu-shabu to bulgogi. Fresh kim-chee. Goa 2000 has a sushi bar, and Made's Warung also serves perfect sushi roll, yakitori and sashimi.
Fast Food For the hopelessly homesick, Kuta has a complete complement of American fast food outlets: Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Swensen's Ice Cream are all in the gelael Supermarket on Jl. Imambonjol, near the gas station, and on Jl. Legian near the Spotlight. Down the road the from the Gilead Supermarket are Pizza Hut and Dairy Queen, right next to the big duty free shop.
